A new retail & restaurant store has opened up in Morley called Mean Machines, and they are all about retro classic cars & custom motorcycles. Check it out!
Do you love beautiful classic cars, custom motorbikes and American-diner style food? If you like all three, then you’re in for a really good time.
Mean Machines is a quirky, exciting new concept to Perth that incorporates a fully licensed restaurant & café with retail with entertainment. They have everything from retro collectibles, vintage oddities, cool gifts, branded clothing, artwork, retro second hand furniture, plus an amazing array of classic cars, automobilia and custom motorcycles for sale.

My boyfriend is both a car enthusiast and motorcycle rider (he rides a 690 Duke R), so he’s always the first to know where the cool car and bike events are on in Perth. He heard about Mean Machines on some car community forum, so on the Sunday I hopped on the back of his bike and we went there to check it out.

Parking up at the back of Mean Machines in Morley.
Located within a two storey warehouse, Mean Machines is open plan with a semi industrial feel to it, and an eclectic mix of mismatched furniture. While you order your American ‘dude food’ (how I like to call it), you can do a little window shopping and pick up a Mean Machines t-shirt, a vintage tricycle, or maybe even a vintage Fiat X19.
I thoroughly enjoyed having a look around at Mean Machines, there is so much stuff to look at here, that you won’t bother checking your Facebook notifications – you’ll be too distracted by everything! The theme here is very much oldschool and retro motor vehicles and motorcycles, including their quality clothing lines.
Check out all my pictures below:

Inside Mean Machines warehouse – view from the restaurant. Industrial vibes.

Pretty alfresco area with astro turf. We sat out here to eat.

A little outdoor table and chair set – cute! I would have sat on it but didn’t want to break it.

Entering from the back, (as the front door was closed at the time). HEY ELVIS I SEE YOU

A separate room – great for functions.

Cool signs everywhere. That’s where you go up to order.

Slightly getting rock’n’roll Elvis vibes in this warehouse.

Back of an oldschool Fiat. Haha, it’s cute.

Next to a very attractive Triumph

If you know someone who loves bikes and cars, take them here and then team it up with breakfast, lunch or dinner while you’re there!

Cool blue custom motorcycle

Retro arcade games!

NOW TO THE FOOD!

Licensed to serve beer, wine and spirits – you’ll have a merry rockin’ time here.

Love this drink – tasted just like Grape Zappos!! So naughty though and high in sugar 🙁

I really liked the coffee actually 🙂 Quite nice!

Half into our Wagyu Beef Burger. While it was very tasty, maybe a different style bun would have made it even better.

Happy Adam 🙂

It’s all in the details…

“All furniture and collectables are for sale, to purchase please locate the item numbers ticker and provide to a member of staff with an offer for the item”.

Oh Harrow Tahnee. I see you

Bits and bobs for sale.

No thank you. I hate clowns.

Random witch flying around

If you’re a fan of Coca Cola…

Lots of clothes, hats, helmets, belts for sale.

Branded apparel for sale.

Strong Kevlar motorcycle jeans sold here.

I ended up buying this Mean Machines branded hat. Thought it would be useful for my All-Around-Australia Road Trip next year!! 🙂

Cool AF naked custom motorcycle. Love the design and colour scheme. Sleek.

Cool automobilia gifts here. With Christmas coming up, might be a good idea to check this place out.

A comfortable ride for passengers! Haha.

Super oldschool scooters, lol.

Checking out upstairs where there is soooo much stuff!

Oh look there I am. SELFIEEE

This velvet red couch with gold lining would look amazing in a Theatre room.

A little too eerie for me, but hey, someone else might appreciate owning a photo of a random little girl. Nice vintage frame.

Fun artwork and inspirational decor ideas.

Some seriously cool gift ideas in here.

For under $200, this could be yours.

Because, why not?

Taxi, anyone?

He is in his element.
Down the road from Mean Machines is their classic car and custom motorcycle showroom, which is open (by appointment only) at 26 Rudloc Road. So if you take your cars and bikes seriously, definitely check out their showroom because it showcases an array of vehicles unlike anything else in Western Australia, as well as more automobilia, automotive art and lots more.
Also keep an ear out for upcoming events held at Mean Machines, apparently they do bike functions here that draws quite a crowd with many rocking up in their prized classic cars and cool bikes.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
All in all, Mean Machines is something totally new in Perth and that makes it refreshingly different.
I found their menu prices to be fairly reasonable, and their Wagyu burger to be quite tasty! Our waiter was really friendly and had a great sense of humour, and another bloke let me go upstairs to have more of a look around. So nice people there!
The coffee was outstanding and it was nice having lunch in such a unusual, unique open space environment that was filled with character, charm and personality.
I think Mean Machines has awesome potential to become something huge here – especially since there are many bike and car enthusiasts in Perth that organise cruise days (we definitely have the best weather for it here). It’s nothing like your usual food outlet and for that, I really hope it sticks around because Morley needs something like this.
I’ll definitely be returning to give their menu another shot, maybe will give the ribs a go next time!
Highlights from their Menu:
- Mac ‘n’ Cheese Balls
- Fried Szechaun Squid Legs with Chiptole Lime Mayo
- Charcoal Corn
- Toasted Cubano Sandwich with Carcoal Roast Pork, Cheese, Ham & Pickles
